Academic exchange program with the University of Kentucky
The Kitasato University School of Pharmacy concluded an international academic exchange agreement with the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 1989, and the two universities have participated in exchange programs ever since. We offer a two-week study abroad course to interested sixth-year students. Participants learn about the realities of American healthcare and the work American pharmacists perform through tours of University of Kentucky hospitals and local pharmacies as well as through experiencing the work of clinical pharmacists during team rounds and at conferences. Prior to the course, University of Kentucky clinical faculty members hold lectures and seminars in English at Kitasato University. Kitasato University has also begun conducting courses for University of Kentucky students in Japan in the spirit of mutual exchange. (In AY 2024, sixth-year students have participated in the course at the University of Kuntucky from May 20 to June 1.)

ケンタッキー大学との学術交流
薬学部は、1989年にケンタッキー大学薬学部と学術交流協定を締結し、長年に渡って交流を続けてきました。現在、６年次の希望者を対象に約２週間の海外研修が行われ、ケンタッキー大学病院や地域薬局での見学や、チーム回診やカンファレンス参加などの臨床薬剤師業務の体験を通して、アメリカの医療や薬剤師業務の実際を学んでいます。また研修に先立ち同大学の臨床教員が来日し、英語で講義やセミナーなどが行われています。ケンタッキー大学学生の日本での研修もスタートし、相互の交流が行われています。（2024年度は5月20日～6月1日まで本学薬学部6年生がケンタッキー大学にて臨床薬学研修を実施。）

Academic exchange programs with two American universities
Our Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has concluded academic exchange agreements with two U.S. universities (Purdue University and the University of Tennessee) and dispatches fifth-year students to these universities each summer vacation. Students train under the guidance of teachers specializing in fields such as small animal internal medicine and surgery, large animal internal medicine and surgery, ophthalmology, and dermatology. In addition, one instructor from each university is usually invited to Kitasato University each year to hold lectures, courses and seminars, and students from these universities interested in studying veterinary medicine at Kitasato University come to the Towada Campus.

アメリカの2大学との学術交流
獣医学科では、毎年夏休み、学術交流協定を結んでいるアメリカの2大学（パデュー大学、テネシー大学）に５年次の学生を派遣しています。 研修先では、小動物内科・外科、大動物内科・外科、眼科、皮膚科などの診療科において、それぞれの専門医の先生の指導のもとに研修を行います。また、それぞれの大学から毎年約１名の教員を招聘し、講義、講演、セミナー等を開催しており、相手校からも本学での獣医学研修を希望する学生が十和田キャンパスを訪問しています。

Exchange with Four Universities in China
The School of Veterinary Medicine has an academic exchange agreement with the College of Veterinary Medicine at Jilin University, as well as inter-university agreements with Jilin Agricultural University, Southwest University, and Huazhong Agricultural University. Through these partnerships, the school promotes comprehensive academic exchange, including collaborative research, education and training programs, mutual exchanges of faculty members and students, and the organization of seminars and related academic events.

中国の4大学との交流
吉林大学動物医学学院と学術交流協定を結んでいます。また、吉林農業大学、西南大学、華中農業大学とは大学間協定を結んでおります。これらの大学とは共同研究、教育・研修・研究を目的とし、教員並びに学生の相互派遣を計画し、セミナーなどの開催を目的とし学術総合交流をも行っております。

Exchange program with Mahanakorn University of Technology Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
Some faculty members from Mahanakorn University of Technology have enrolled in the Kitasato University Graduate School of Veterinary Sciences Division of Veterinary Medicine as international students and have received PhD degrees. In addition, fifth-year students at Mahanakorn University of Technology study at Kitasato University for one month. Since the 2016 academic year, our fifth-year students have also studied veterinary medicine at the Mahanakorn University of Technology during the summer vacation.

タイ国のマハナコン工科大学獣医学部との交流
マハナコン工科大学の教員が獣医学系研究科獣医学専攻博士課程に留学生として所属し、学位を取得しています。また、マハナコン工科大学の５年生が本学で１ヶ月の研修をします。2016年度から本学５年生も夏休みに相手校で獣医学の研修を行っています。

Japan Agricultural Exchange Council
The Japan Agricultural Exchange Council offers long-term agricultural training programs in which trainees stay at farms in the United States or Europe (Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland) as well as training programs at local universities and other institutions.

Clinical training program on wildlife in Australia
Our students have been approved to attend the clinical training program on wildlife conducted by the Australia-Japan Wildlife Conservation and Education Foundation (AJWCEF). During the summer program, students receive clinical training through wildlife conservation activities at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (Currumbin Wildlife Hospital).

オーストラリア野生動物臨床研修
オーストラリア日本野生動物保護教育財団（AJWCEF）で行われる野生動物臨床研修への学生の参加が認められました。夏季研修ではカランビン・ワイルドライフ自然保護区（野生動物病院）での野生動物保護活動を通して臨床研修が行われます。

Academic exchange program with the University of California, Los Angeles
The Kitasato University School of Nursing has had an academic exchange program with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) since 1989. As part of the exchange program, faculty members from UCLA are invited to deliver lectures and conduct seminars on advanced nursing practice and research in the United States, primarily for graduate students and faculty members. Through this program, participants are able to learn about the latest trends in advanced nursing practice in the United States while remaining in Japan.

カリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校との学術交流
1989年から、カリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校（UCLA）と学術交流を行っています。交流プログラムでは、UCLAの教員を招き、アメリカの高度看護実践などの講義や研究に関するセミナーなどを主に大学院生や教員を対象に実施しており、日本に居ながらアメリカの先進的な看護の動向について知ることができます。

Academic exchange program with the McMaster University 
The Kitasato University School of Nursing has been conducting academic exchanges with the McMaster University in Canada since 2019.During the overseas program at McMaster University, which is famous as the university that pioneered Problem Based Learning (PBL), students can experience PBL and attend lectures on the healthcare system and nursing practice in Canada.
This two-week program is credited as "Overseas Study Program for Advanced Nursing (国際看護論演習）" .

マックマスター大学との交流
2019年から、カナダのマックマスター大学との学術交流を行っています。課題解決型学習（PBL；Problem Based Learning）を開始した大学として有名なマックマスター大学の海外研修では、PBLの体験やカナダの保健医療体制、看護実践について講義を受けることができます。2週間の本研修は「国際看護論演習」として単位が付与されます。

Academic exchange program with the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences
The Kitasato University School of Nursing has had academic exchanges with the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences since 2006, and both universities have dispatched and accepted faculty members and students. Since AY2016, we have been conducting a one-week faculty training program for faculty members of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences to support the improvement of nursing education in Mongolia. The participants in the training have given special lectures on Mongolia's medical and nursing systems to our undergraduate students.

モンゴル国立医科大学との学術交流
2006年から、モンゴル国立医科大学と学術交流を行っており、教員の研修受け入れ及び学生の派遣と受け入れを行ってきました。2016年度からはモンゴルの看護教育の向上を支援するため、モンゴル国立医科大学の教員を対象とした1週間の教員研修を行っています。研修に参加された教員には、学部の学生に向けてモンゴルの医療・看護体制に関する特別講義を行っていただいています。

Academic Exchange program with University of Inland Norway
The academic exchange with University of Inland Norway, started in 2017, includes the dispatch and acceptance of students. During the two-week overseas program, students can visit medical facilities and local healthcare and welfare facilities, as well as experience Norwegian lifestyles through a homestay. The overseas program in Norway, a high welfare country, is expected to become even more enhanced in the future.
This two-week program is credited as "Overseas Study Program for Advanced Nursing (国際看護論演習）" .

インランドノルウェー大学との学術交流
2017年に開始したインランドノルウェー大学との学術交流では、学生の派遣と受け入れを行っています。2週間の海外研修では、医療施設や地域の保健福祉施設の見学に加えて、ホームステイでノルウェーの生活を体験することができます。高福祉国家であるノルウェーでの海外研修は、今後さらに充実した内容となっていくことが期待されます。2週間の本研修は「国際看護論演習」として単位が付与されます。

International exchange program with Harvard University
Hoping to develop researchers with an international perspective, the Kitasato University School of Science engages in international exchanges with Harvard University, dispatching students to Harvard and receiving students from the university in turn every other year. Students in this exchange program attend lectures, visit laboratories, engage in discussions with other students and researchers, give speeches in English, and tour various facilities. In recent years, academic exchanges were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic; however, in the 2023 academic year, students were sent to Harvard University. At present, there are no plans for outgoing or incoming exchanges.

ハーバード大学との国際交流
国際的な視野を備えた研究者の育成を目指し、ハーバード大学への派遣・受け入れ交流を隔年で実施しています。講義への参加、研究室の見学、学生・研究者等とのディスカッション、英語でのスピーチ、施設見学などの交流をおこないます。ここ数年は新型コロナウイルス感染拡大により交流を中断していましたが、2023年度はハーバード大学へ学生を派遣しました。現在は派遣・受け入れ交流の予定はありません。

International exchange program with Kingston University
The Kitasato University School of Science has conducted a short-term study abroad program at the Kingston University in the UK since 2016. This is an unique program designed for us, enabling our students to experience three weeks focused on "Science". By training students' four skills "speaking, listening, reading and writing" through lectures by English specialists and attending fieldwork such as Forensic Science Practice and Royal Institution Lectures, the program aims to enhance students' English skills for science, promote cross-cultural understanding, and improve their communication skills. In addition, students can get firsthand experience the overseas campus life since the program is held during the regular semester in the host country. This program is currently suspended.

キングストン大学との国際交流
2016年度から実施している、“理系”に特化した3週間を過ごす、本学理学部のために作成されたオリジナルプログラムです。英語専門講師陣による講義で“話す・聞く・見る・書く”の4つの力を鍛え、Forensic Science実習、Royal Institution Lectureの聴講といったフィールドワークを通すことで、科学英語力を高めること、異文化への理解の促進やコミュニケーションスキルの向上を図ることを目的としています。また、現地が通常学期中の留学となるため、外国の大学生活を肌で感じられることも特徴の一つです。現在は中断しています。

International academic exchange program with Thomas Jefferson University
With the goal of producing capable individuals who possess an international perspective and extensive expertise and can flourish in international society, the Kitasato University School of Allied Health Sciences and Thomas Jefferson University provide hospital and facility tours, lectures for the other university’s students, and undergraduate and research presentations. The Radiological Technology Course of the Department of Medical Engineering and Technology, the Physical Therapy Course and Occupational Therapy Course of the Department of Rehabilitation have conducted student exchanges annually, alternating between hosting and sending students each year, with credits recognized as elective courses.
We established Cross-cultural Interdisciplinary Case Study conducted in English during the 2015 academic year, and students from both universities formed mixed teams. These initiatives were expanded in 2016 to include students from Kitasato University’s School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy and School of Nursing, as well as Charles University (Czech Republic) and FH Campus Wien (Austria). In 2017, Gabriele D’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara (Italy), the University of Iowa (United States), UCLA (United States), and the University of Medical Technology, Yangon (Myanmar) also joined, expanding the activities conducted by mixed teams to include students from Japan, Europe, the Americas and Asia. Since 2018, with more participating universities, our Cross-cultural Interdisciplinary Case Study has been conducted as a university-wide program.

トーマス・ジェファーソン大学との学術国際交流
国際的な視野と高い専門知識を持った国際社会に通用する人材を養成することを目的として、病院・施設見学、講義への参加、学部紹介、研究紹介などを相互に行っています。医療工学科診療放射線技術科学専攻・リハビリテーション学科理学療法学専攻・作業療法学専攻では、隔年ごとに学生の受け入れと派遣を実施しており、自由選択科目として単位認定もされています。2015年度からは国際チーム医療演習を開始し、本学部学生とトーマス・ジェファーソン大学学生の混成チームで、英語によるチーム医療演習を実施しました。この取り組みは、2016年には本学部に加えて、本学の医学部、薬学部、看護学部学生とトーマス・ジェファーソン大学、カレル大学（チェコ）、FH Campus Wien（オーストリア）、2017年には上記３大学に加え、ダヌンツィオ大学（イタリア）、アイオワ大学（アメリカ）、UCLA（アメリカ）、ヤンゴン医療技術大学（ミャンマー）も参加し、日欧米亜学生の混成チームでの実施に拡大しました。2018年度以降さらに参加校は増加し、国際チーム医療演習は全学的な組織で実施しています。

International academic exchange program with University of Medical Technology, Yangon
The Kitasato University School of Allied Health Sciences concluded an academic exchange agreement with the University of Medical Technology, Yangon in 2017. The objectives of this agreement are twofold. The first is to develop students and graduates who have studied the state of medicine in developing Asian countries with challenging medical environments and can contribute to the medical field in these countries. The second objective is to help develop medical education and research in Myanmar through providing concrete technical guidance, improving the collaborative educational program, and providing medical education to students from Yangon.

ヤンゴン医療技術大学との学術国際交流
医療を取り巻く環境の厳しいアジア地域の開発途上国における医療の実態を学び、これらの国々の医療現場へ貢献できるような学生・卒業生の輩出や、具体的な技術指導、教育プログラムの共同開発、学生を受け入れての医療教育を通じて、ミャンマーにおける医療教育・研究の発展に寄与することを目的として、2017年に学術交流協定を締結しました。

International academic exchange program with Hochschule Campus Wien
The Kitasato University School of Allied Health Sciences began an international exchange program with Hochschule Campus Wien in AY 2016. The goal is to conduct exchanges in Europe, the birthplace of the healthcare concept, which maintains a high level of influence around the globe. This will enable students to understand the origins of healthcare and share the sense of related values that work globally. Based on these initiatives, we promote globalization. We have begun concrete student exchanges—including accepting students from Hochschule Campus Wien—for the purposes of practical training at our school and the university hospital, and have concluded an academic exchange agreement in 2018. In addition, since the same year, we have established opportunities for students to learn about occupational therapy around the world through cooperation (online exchange) with overseas universities, including Hochschule Campus Wien as part of the required courses in our Occupational Therapy Course of the Department of Rehabilitation. Since AY 2022, Hochschule Campus Wien has hosted an international exchange program annually and our students from the Occupational Therapy Course, the Department of  Rehabilitation participated in it for our further exchange. This program is recognized as an elective course with credit.

Hochschule Campus Wienとの学術国際交流
保健衛生の概念の発祥の地であり、今なお世界に強い影響力を有するヨーロッパの国々との交流により、保健衛生の概念の根源に触れ、より幅広い価値観の共有による世界標準ともいうべき国際化の促進を目的として、2016年度より交流を開始しました。学部や病院での実習を目的としたHochschule Campus Wienからの学生受け入れも行うなど、学生のための具体的な交流も開始され、2018年度には学術交流協定を締結しました。また同年より、リハビリテーション学科作業療法学専攻の必修科目において、Hochschule Campus Wienを含む海外の大学と連携（オンライン交流）し世界の作業療法について学ぶ機会を設けています。2022年度以降は毎年Hochschule Campus Wienにて国際交流プログラムが開催され、リハビリテーション学科作業療法学専攻の学生が現地参加し、自由選択科目として単位認定されています。

International academic exchange program with National Cheng Kung University
Our academic exchanges with the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan started in 2016. In 2019, We have concluded an academic exchage agreement and dispatched students mutually for more practical learning. Since 2019, Cross-cultural Interdisciplinary Case Study has included students majoring clinical psychology and occupational therapy from the National Cheng Kung University for further exchanges.
Through exchange with Taiwan, which has an aging society with a declining birthrate similar to Japan, we expect to deepen our understanding of sustainable healthcare in the future.

成功大学との学術国際交流
台湾・成功大学との交流は2016年から開始されました。2019年には学術交流協定を締結し、より実践的な学習を目的とした学生の相互派遣を実施しています。2019年以降は国際チーム医療演習に、保健衛生学科臨床心理コース・リハビリテーション学科作業療法学専攻の留学生も参加し、交流を深めています。我が国同様の少子高齢化社会である台湾との交流を通じて、将来的にも持続可能な医療（サステイナブルな医療）に対する理解が深まることが期待されます。

Academic Exchange Agreement with Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia)
In AY 2025, Kitasato University School of Frontier Engineering has concluded a Memorandum of Agreement with Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada. This agreement aims to build cooperative relationships in areas of mutual interest in academics, research, and education.
This summer, students from Universitas Gadjah Mada are scheduled to visit Kitasato University for a “Laboratory Internship” and exchange with our third-year undergraduate and graduate students.
Starting with this internship, the school will continue to promote activities that deepen collaboration in data science education.

ガジャマダ大学（インドネシア）との学術国際協定
学術、研究及び教育の分野において、相互に関心のある分野での協力関係を構築することを目的として、2025年度にガジャマダ大学理数学部と学術交流協定を締結しました。
今夏にはガジャマダ大学から学生が来訪し、3年生や大学院生を対象として交流する「研究室インターンシップ」を実施する予定です。
この「研究室インターンシップ」を起点とし、今後もデータサイエンス教育に深みのある交流を展開すべく活動の推進を図ります。

Short-term language study program
The Kitasato University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has run a short-term study abroad language program since 2014. This is a three-week program for first-year undergraduate students conducted in the United States or Australia from February to March each year. It aims to strengthen their conversational and linguistic skills in English in preparation for the specialized English studies from the second year onwards, while also deepening their international comprehension through cross-cultural experiences.  It was held at the University of Sydney in Australia in AY 2024. This program covers conversation and communication, vocabulary, and grammar, and also includes training in research assignments and English presentations. During after-school hours and weekends, there are attractive opportunities to enjoy sightseeing and nature, while also interacting with people from other countries through dormitory stays or homestays.
*Eligibility: First-year undergraduate students across all schools
*This is not a credit-bearing program.

短期語学留学プログラム
一般教育部では、２年次以降の専門分野の英語学習に備えて会話力や語学力を補強すると同時に、異文化の体験を通して国際理解を深めてもらうことを目的として、学部１年生の希望者を対象に、2月から３月にかけて３週間程度の短期語学留学プログラムを2014年度からアメリカやオーストラリアにて留学を実施しています。2024年度はオーストラリアにあるシドニー大学にて実施しました。短期語学留学プログラムでは、一般的な会話やコミュニケーション、語彙や文法をカバーする他、各自がリサーチ課題に取り組み、英語でのプレゼンテーションの訓練等を受けます。放課後や週末には、自由に観光をしたり、大自然に触れたり、学生寮やホームステイで他国の方々と交流できることも留学の魅力となっています。
※対象：全学部1年次生
※本プログラムは単位化していません。

The Graduate School of Medical Sciences provides support for (1) educational and research exchange activities based on academic exchange agreements with scholarly institutions overseas, (2) educational and research exchange activities designed to create new academic exchange agreements with scholarly institutions overseas, and (3) other educational and research exchange activities that promote internationalization and improve the standard of education and research.
 
(2) Support for students studying abroad and studying from abroad
The Kitasato University Graduate School of Medical Sciences provides support for its local students and international study abroad students (researchers and trainees) in two areas: (1) research exchange activities based on academic exchange agreements with scholarly institutions overseas, and (2) research exchange activities designed to create new academic exchange agreements with scholarly institutions overseas.

Short-Term Language Study Abroad Program
Since AY 2024, a language study abroad program has been offered during the summer vacation for students who wish to challenge themselves with overseas study. In AY 2024, the program was held at Enderun Colleges in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, with 13 students participating. The program received positive feedback such as “I became more motivated and confident in English,” “I broadened my perspective by experiencing a different culture,” and “I felt secure traveling abroad thanks to the university’s support.” Based on this success, the program was continued in AY 2025, with 10 students participating.

国際部主催短期語学留学プログラム
北里大学国際部では、海外留学にチャレンジしてみたい方のため、2024年度から語学留学プログラムを夏休みに実施しています。2024年度は、フィリピンの首都マニラに位置するエンデラン大学にてプログラムを実施し、計13名の学生が参加しました。
「英語への意欲・自信が向上した」「異なる文化を体験することができて視野が広がった」「大学のサポートがあり、安心して渡航できた」との好評を受け、2025年度も引き続き実施し、計10名が参加しました。
