Steps Before Starting Your University Life
大学生活開始までの流れ
本学へ入学するための「留学」査証や在留カードの申請及び来日後の諸手続きについて紹介します。
We would like to provide information regarding the procedures for applying for a “Student” visa and residence card for enrolment at our university, as well as the necessary procedures after arriving in Japan.
本学へ入学するためには、日本での留学に必要な在留資格（通常「留学」ビザ）を取得する必要があります。
手続きの流れは下記のとおりですので、ご確認ください。
※ご不明点がありましたら、まずは合格した学部・研究科の窓口へお問い合わせください。
■ 在留資格を持っていない場合
「留学」の在留資格を申請するには、「在留資格認定証明書」(COE：Certificate of Eligibility)が必要です。
日本に居住していない外国人留学生を対象に、本人に代わって北里大学が申請を行います。（ただし、在留資格「留学」を申請する場合のみ。）※郵送での申請はできません。
手続きの流れは下記のとおりです。必要書類、書類送付先については入学する学部・研究科からの案内をご確認ください。
交付までの目安：通常 4～5週間程度（書類に不備がない場合）
注意：CoEの交付後は、3か月以内にビザを申請し、日本に入国する必要があります。
● 申請できるのは以下に該当する方です
・申請者本人
・本人が教育を受ける機関の職員
・本人に対して奨学金を支給する機関、その他の本人の学費または滞在費を支弁する機関の職員
・日本に在住している本人の親族（友人・知人は不可）
・その他法務省で定める者（行政書士、弁護士等）
※本学では、申請人が日本に以内場合に限り、代理申請を行っております。
Applications may be submitted by:
■「留学」の在留資格を取得している場合／If You Already Hold the “Student” Residence Status
既に在留資格「留学」を持っている場合は、必要に応じて「在留期間更新許可申請」を行ってください。
在留期間満了日の3ヶ月前から申請できます。所属機関作成用申請書は、本学が作成します。
If you already hold the “Student” residence status, please apply for an Extension of Period of Stay if necessary. ■「留学」以外の在留資格を取得している場合／ If You Hold a Residence Status Other Than “Student”
「留学」以外の在留資格を持っている場合は、「留学」に変更する必要があります。
家族滞在など、状態が変わらない場合は、必要に応じて在留資格を変更してください。
所属機関作成用申請書は、本学が作成します。
■「短期滞在」の在留資格を取得している場合／
在留資格「短期滞在」で日本に在留している方は、原則として一度出国し、在留資格認定証明書を申請する必要があります。

To enrol at Kitasato University, international students are required to obtain an appropriate residence status for studying in Japan (generally the “Student” visa).
Please review the procedure outlined below.
If you have any questions, please first contact the administrative office of the faculty or graduate school to which you have been admitted.
■ 在留資格を持っていない場合
「留学」の在留資格を申請するには、「在留資格認定証明書」(COE：Certificate of Eligibility)が必要です。
日本に居住していない外国人留学生を対象に、本人に代わって北里大学が申請を行います。（ただし、在留資格「留学」を申請する場合のみ。）※郵送での申請はできません。
手続きの流れは下記のとおりです。必要書類、書類送付先については入学する学部・研究科からの案内をご確認ください。
To apply for the “Student” residence status, you must first obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (COE).
For prospective international students who are residing outside Japan, Kitasato University will apply for the COE on behalf of the applicant.
(This applies only to applications for the “Student” residence status.)
Please note that applications by post are not accepted.
Please refer to the guidance provided by your faculty or graduate school regarding the required documents and submission address.
注意：CoEの交付後は、3か月以内にビザを申請し、日本に入国する必要があります。
Estimated processing time: Approximately 4–5 weeks (provided that all documents are complete).
Important: After the COE is issued, you must apply for your visa and enter Japan within three months of the date of issue.
● 申請できるのは以下に該当する方です
・申請者本人
・本人が教育を受ける機関の職員
・本人に対して奨学金を支給する機関、その他の本人の学費または滞在費を支弁する機関の職員
・日本に在住している本人の親族（友人・知人は不可）
・その他法務省で定める者（行政書士、弁護士等）
※本学では、申請人が日本に以内場合に限り、代理申請を行っております。
Applications may be submitted by:
・The applicant themself
・A staff member of the educational institution the applicant will attend
・A staff member of an organisation providing a scholarship or covering the applicant’s tuition or living expenses
・A relative residing in Japan (friends or acquaintances are not permitted)
・Other persons authorised by the Ministry of Justice (e.g. administrative scriveners or lawyers)
・At Kitasato University, proxy applications are made only when the applicant is residing outside Japan.
■「留学」の在留資格を取得している場合／If You Already Hold the “Student” Residence Status
既に在留資格「留学」を持っている場合は、必要に応じて「在留期間更新許可申請」を行ってください。
在留期間満了日の3ヶ月前から申請できます。所属機関作成用申請書は、本学が作成します。
If you already hold the “Student” residence status, please apply for an Extension of Period of Stay if necessary.
You may apply from three months prior to the expiry date of your current period of stay.
The section of the application form to be completed by the accepting institution will be prepared by Kitasato University.
「留学」以外の在留資格を持っている場合は、「留学」に変更する必要があります。
家族滞在など、状態が変わらない場合は、必要に応じて在留資格を変更してください。
所属機関作成用申請書は、本学が作成します。
■「短期滞在」の在留資格を取得している場合／
在留資格「短期滞在」で日本に在留している方は、原則として一度出国し、在留資格認定証明書を申請する必要があります。
